Hi all,
I am a frustrated DJ upstart who has purchased Virtual DJ Pro, as well as a Hercules RMX. I installed VDJ, and have also installed the RMX controller, but I can't seem to get them to sync up with each other.
I get one of two performances from these two items:
1.) My RMX outputs the sounds through my headphones and speaker set by controlling VDJ through my keyboard, but I can't use the RMX as a controller
2.) My RMX works as a controller and outputs sound through my speakers, but I can't hear the music in my headphones
I am just trying to "plug in and play" as the RMX claims...but it's not that simple. Any suggestions on how to set this up to make it all sync? I am using a MAC btw...

I don't own the RMX, but what does the config look like in sound setup?

In the Config menu, sound set up, inputs:none, Outputs:headphones, Soundcard:RMX and click Apply and OK..
You should be off to the races....

Did you install the updated driver for the RMX?

you need to go into your sound settings on the computer and make sure that the output it set the the hercules RMX as it has a bulit in sound card to allow both feeds to work.

Let's resume to prevent any confusion:
1) Install the latest driver (4.HDJS.2009) for the Rmx, as well as the latest update for VDJ ( if you just bought it, you should normally already have v6.05)
2) Once the Rmx is correctly installed, launch Virtual DJ, then go to the Sound Setup, and configure as follow:
- Input : None
- Output(s): Headphone
-Soundcard: DJ Console Rmx
This will allow the main mix to be sent to Output 1/2, and monitoring with the headphone.
3) Still in the VDJ configuration, under MApper, the Rmx should be available from the drop down menu at the top. If this is the case, it should work as a controller.

Disabling the onboard card (on the laptop/desktop) will also help.. i had the same issue till day before... all fine now.

when you choose your rmx in your sound settings it automatically stops your onboard soundcard i think

It doesn't stop it ( it will still work for all other computer applications). You simply tell VDJ to use a specific soundcard, so it will not care about any other cards you have installed on your system.

sorry i was wrong thanks for clearing that up.just i never disable sound just select rmx and away i go

I know you guys must be going "whos this guy?" by now but yeah....youre just telling the software to use the soundcard in the RMX. I like to record my mixes with two applications at the same time. Vdj regular recording function ,which i believe uses Windows moviemaker's engine to record (though i never used movie maker by itself )...and i Record the main screen of vdj (the control mixer) with a screen grabber application) so i can study my moves.the screen grabber for some reason cant get the sound from the RMX (cause its a demo of "DEBUT") but gets the audio from the laptops line (MIc) inputs so I run a "Y" cord from the Hercules line outs to the laptop and that works at the same time Vdj gets the suond internally (usb stream) so..

jeez mate you like making things hard for yourself. tracker you don't need to post your own problems that have got nothing to do with a thread, you are allowed to post any problems you maybe having on your own thread.
