Topic: why does vdj install on desktop

hey guys, i just got windows 7 i used to have vdj on xp when i install it on windows 7 for some reason it installs it to the desktop. when i select the directory its suppose to go to my programs/virtualdj. but for some reason it installs some of the links to the desktop and those links are needed for vdj wont work the message that comes up is skin error if i delete the desktop links. let me know your thought i know this message was posted a while back somewhere.

Did you do a clean install or just an upgrade of windows 7? Did you install any previous versions of vdj before? If so try uninstalling vdj, then click start, type (Regedit) in the search and then delete all vdj registry keys that appear in the SOFTWARE folders. I had the same problem when vdj installed folders in My Documents instead of creating a virtual dj folder for them, so I uninstalled,deleted the registry keys and re-installed.Perfect.
 
nope i tried that it still installs on desktop
 
Is this the latest VDJ trial, or another version from elsewhere?

Other versions have been known to mess with folder locations...
 
i'm trying the the latest vdj the trial and it still installs on desktop

these are the folder and files
cache
devices
languages
mappers
playlists
plugins
samplers
skins
tracklisting

let me know your thoughts i was using it on xp and it was perfect for me i have windows 7.. thx
 
Did the 601 and 602 pro cracks install properly?
Or was it just our trial that did so?

Sounds like a hacked exe to me if the home folder location is your desktop.

I'm thinking a cracked version.. The proper installer from Atomix doesnt do this
 
i dont have a cracked version i'm using the latest version. New years trial version
 
Had you tried to install a cracked version previously? That could then affect legitimate installs.

I installed Virtual Dj on my windows 7 laptop and i changed the install location to my program files but some of the folders are still installing to my desktop. if i delete them an error message pops up and the program wont work. Any ideas to what the problem is?
