i have the RMX console with VDJ5 pre-installed and am wondering if i can download and use other plug-in skins or is it fixed with the one that came with it??

unfortunately you are limited as the name suggests to skins, plugins etc, to find out if you can download a particular skin just look to see what version it can be used for, gonna be a boring time doing that i bet, lol, as for the plugins like video effects not sure if the same thing applies as for versions allowed to le users Seana.

Unfortunately the RMX version is free limited software and does not support using custom skins.
However, you can upgrade to VirtualDJ Pro at a significant discount by going to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html and entering your RMX DJ Console Edition serial number in the box provided.

Since you are an LE user, Seana, you do qualify for Pro at a discounted price. So, even though your spending money, you are also saving money. Some users purchased Pro and the RMX at full price. ;-)
