Topic: play/sync in virtual dj 5/6

Hi guys/girls,

I originally had vdj 3 using the hercules mp3 control. Recently I have bought the RMX with vdj 5 and vdj 6.

In vdj 3 you could press the sync button and the tracked cued up would start to play automatically and sync at the same time.

But when using vdj 5/6 with rmx and I press the sync button, the track doesnt play, i have to press play and then press sync. Is there any way to get the sync button to play/sync straight away at the same time??

Is that just how virtual dj5/6 is now or can i change something to get it like it was in vdj 3?

Of which version are we speaking ??? If you use version 6 then try 'play & sync'. This shortcut does not work in v5.

I have Vdj 6.0.6 and cant seem to get it to work, in the mapper to I just type "play & sync" for the sync button?

Havent really used vdj5 as I have 6, but will go back to vdj 5 if it works in that version correctly.

The Trial Version you are using has a few limitations but the macro i send you should work. Put it in the action for the sync button and try it.

I have the full version of vdj, came with my rmx (I just havent update my profile yet lol)

I got it to work now, I just put play_sync for the sync botton map.

I now notice that when I press the "sync" button, it plays and syncs which is great, but it goes out of sync pretty fast, is there a reason for this?

Depending on the skin you are using just click on smart_play to lock it. I'm using CStoll's Default modified skin. I also have master tempo locked on permanently. After loading a track hit sync before playing, then when ready hit play. After mixing you can then hit pitch reset on the RMX to return the pitch bend to zero. Simples ;-)
 
A version 6.0.6 professional is NOT existing !

My guess is that the beat grid for you tracks aren't set properly. Make sure the beat grid is lining up properly with the peaks of the waveform through the entire song. Or if you're using timecode vinyl the records or needles might be warn out which can cause the track's pitch to be inconsistent.
