Hello guys,

I've been called by a friend who I just helped build his new windows 7 64 bit rig to do some DJing, guess what? He has the same stuttering. Going to XP is not an option unfortunately for him, so I started a trial of elimination.

Here is what I've come up with so far that influences the fluidity of the Waveform. I was able to minimize it with this, but it's stil not as smooth as it should be...

- Modern Processors use profiles to throttle the CPU frequency to lower power consumption. Since VDJ doesn't use a lot of resources the CPU keeps switching between frequency's which hoggs the system fluidity, so select a profile with maximum performance, using the standard clockspeed of your CPU. WARNING: If you use a laptop, this can cause heat problems if your laptop is poorly ventilated!

- If you use the 3D Aero desktop try disabeling it or try to disable VSync all together in the 3D settings of your graphics card

- Use a skin that fit's your screen. trying to maximize a skin which doesn't fit you pixel resolution will make VDJ try to scale the skin in realtime, this is a BIG hogg on the CPU even if you select the option to use fast skinning to spare CPU cycles. This also has a BIG impact on waveform fluidity.

-Find the right latency for your soundcard, don't trust the auto setting, eventhough it says only to change it when you use timecoded vynil's. For example, when using auto in the performance tab, the fluidity was horrible, by trying different settings it seemed that lower settings were sluggish, a little higher became better, 512 (11ms) was the best, and higher latencies became worse again.

By following these steps I minimized the stuttering of the waveform, but it's still there, so if someone has some more ideas, please contribute!

Turned my waveform off, no more problem.
