Topic: Dell Wireless Card

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I have a Dell XPS13. It has a Dell wireless card installed which I know are notorious for bad drivers and DPC latency spikes therefore I keep mine disabled in device manager.

I've seen on ebay that Intel wireless cards are available for my laptop very cheaply.

Are they easy to swap and are they better for drivers / latency?

Any advice?

If it's something that you don't use, why would you need to swap it?

Well I've just explained why I don't use it, but if i can swap the card for one without the problem then I would use it.

What would you do with it if it were enabled? I only use mine to download from the pool. Otherwise, it's disabled. Ethernet too. And when I'm spinning, I'm not downloading, so spikes wouldn't matter much it that regard.

I want to use the Netsearch feature. I also have text2screen software that works better with an internet connection.

Anyone?

The wireless card is easy to swap. Its just a few screws on the bottom. I had crazy DPC spikes with a Broadcom 54g card in my XPS1330 system. I have an Intel 3945agn card. It works fine as long as I have a good network connection.
