Hello everyone, i recently started using itunes to manage all my music off an external drive. The problem i have encountered in VDJ is that all the files in the itunes folder are showing up yellow and with question marks, and not loading. I know the files are good because they play in itunes, i simply cant get them to work in VDJ. I changed the library path name using the registry tool and my itunes playlist do show up, i just cant load the songs.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Alex.

If they are iTunes music store purchases, they may be 128 bit Protected AAC files. Those will never play outside of iTunes because of the DRM that they are encrypted with. Only the new iTunes Plus (256 bit Purchased) tracks will play outside of iTunes.

Any CD ripped in any bit rate of AAC, MP3 or others, ripped by iTunes, should play just fine. Only the old 128 bit AAC tracks purchased from the iTunes music store should have encryption. Some videos bought on the music store may still be protected, but all audio tracks offered since last summer have been DRM free. That plus the better quality is why the price recently went up.

If you have protected tracks, you can upgrade them in the music store for $.30 each.

They're def. not protected. All CD rips, i just use itunes to organize. If it helps, i was able to get serato to read it without a problem but i'd prefer to use VDJ on this laptop.
Any other ideas ?

Thanks, Alex.

Not sure what version Cue you are running, and how similar they are. But I had some issues with iTunes making folders with really long names or non stadard caracters (like Beyonce, with accented e). So maybe make sure the folders have shorter names with typical caraters. Or at least just give one trouble folder a shot.

Running latest version of cue. anyone else have any help ?

Perhaps a screen shot of the issue and some more specic details (OS, Cue #, Song, format, etc) would get you an answer. For now, I can't say.

My iTunes files would load in my playlist but not in the deck itself. I started from the top of the decoder list in search of one that would play iTunes .mp4 and m4a files. To my surprise, the General QuickTime audio decoder corrected the problem.
