Topic: VCI-300 and VDJ Pro like Oil and Water!! [SOLVED]

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

VCI-300 Audio for both Mac and PC. You cannot configure the VCI-300 to cue in headphones (all other controls and switches work perfectly). For DJs this is a very important feature needed in DJ programs. I have tried on both my Mac Snow Leopard, and Windows XP on two different computers and I was still unsuccessful at getting it to work.

I have a PC now set up, XP with ASIO 2.7 and VCI-300. I am still having the same problem! Outputs: Master Channel 1&2, Headphones Channel 3&4. Soundcard: ASIO4ALL. Sound comes out of Main outs ONLY. No Prelisten in headphones. I Swapped channels. Outputs: Master Channel 3&4, Headphones 1&2. Sound then comes out of headohones ONLY. I have checked your forums and can find NO ONE that has made VDJ Pro work with the VCI-300.

Tech support says he knows a user that has his Mac working with the VCI-300 (I think he is eluding that my MAc is bad) Its brand new, and I am getting the same problem on a different computer. VDJ can obviously recognize and output audi to the VCI-300..but not both the Mains and Headphones together. VDJ..it is a software audio driver problem with your software....hint hint. I've got a suggestion..Call Serato and see how they got it to work!! I WANT MY VDJ to work with my VCI-300!!

Some user also have it working in Windows with ASIO4ALL 2.9. Hope some VCI-300 users could give you their settings and how they are working with VCI-300.

In fact the problem is not a problem of VDJ. At all it is a problem of the manufacturer which does NOT provide a native ASIO driver for the unit. So do not blame VDJ for not running 100% with that device.

The mapping of the device works properly. The only problem is the sound mapping with ASIO4All. I know different people working with the VCI-300 as a controller device. But i must ask them if they use the Soundcard of the device or an external pro SK like Connective, Audo4, Audio8 or RME Hammerfall.

I gave them the link to your posting.

I use almost the same settings as Cioce, and the vci 300 whit virtual dj 6.07 works very well.

More testing completed on PC. I hooked up my DJio without the VCI-300 hooked up to my computer and I was able to Prelisten (cue) in headphones. When I have the soundcard AND the VCI-300 hooked up...I get the headphone problem even when the Numark and/or the VCI-300 is selected for output. I can go dual sound card either.

Groove DJ,

I'm wonder... did your VCI-300 switch on behind is UP or it is set on trough?, I don't know, but something in a switch or config is wrong, because what you already tell when it is connected to the system, DJ|io don't work properly either.

Groove,

Could you check in your VCI-300 if the IF CURVE is all down (INPUT FADER CURVE CONTROL)??? because it can be the problem here. If it is all down, you will not have gain in headphones, but you could listen to them in Itch... IF Curve has a different action on Itch and with other software. If you have Input Fader curve control at all gain, you can have also distortioned sound, because it can add 10dbs to your sound output... so check on this. This knob its right next to the headphone jack (its mapped to headphone_gain, if it is all down, the headphones don't work).

ACW_DJ..I think you are on to something!!
Testing on PC and ASIO4 all....
USB switch on Vestax is in correct position...(USB Power)
I.F. Curve is actually controlling the volume to headphones!! Who would have thought?
The "Monitor Select" is backwards..MSTR is actually (Cue) and Cue is (MSTR). I can work with that...
Volume to headphones are controlled by the Monitor level AND the I.F. Curve on the Vestax. Had to adjust settings because of distorted sound out of headphones as you said it would be.
I guess it is true the squeaky wheel gets the attention!! I think I can live with this. I hope it works on the Mac too!! I don't think anyone know that I.F. curve trick. If they did..they would have jumped on this in January/February on my first post.
I will be testing it this week and will let everyone know how it works. Thanks to all who helped and the "Private Messages" Thank You ACW_DJ for the hours and hours of assistance you put in to help this issue. You didn't quit on me and you expertly dealt with my growing frustration.
I bet your VDJ Pro sales will sky-rocket now!!

VCI-300 and VDJ PRO...now like KOOLAID and WATER!!! Thanks..Chow.

Glad it works now... I tell you many users use it successfully, now you are one of them!

Actually it works better on mac because you don't have to use asio for all. I can tell you from experience it works very well on mac I've been using it for months. Anyways the if curve is a gain not a volume there is a big difference between the two.

You can change this by using the param_invert & action in front of the default action for the fader.

Groove_DJ -

Sorry you had to go through all that and glad you finally have resolution. Don't forget if this causes you issues further, you can always change the mapping in the mapper section of the Config.

I guess the side lesson to this though is to use the Mapper listing to see how the controller is mapped to a specific knob, button, and/or switch to see why something may or may not be working on a controller.

In this case it was not so obvious, but I am glad you got it worked out with ACW's help.

Yes, this was a tough one...ACW really worked hard to fix it for me. Seriously I was ready to throw in the towel and sell my VCI-300. Who would have thought the I.F. Curve? Wow. Back in business now. Thanks.

I wish Teamviewer let me take my hand out of the screen and check the hardware with my hands :-D...

But finally get this working. I know was something in the config, but I couldn't make it too if I don't receive this note about I.F. Curve. Behind the scenes VirtualDJ Team helps you with this issue.

:-)

I love virtual Dj and have used it live many times, but for the vci-300 for mixing etc I feel serato itch has the edge, it was made with the vci-300 in mind.
When I sync a track it's never perfect and even ajusting the jog it does not sound a feel as good as the serato software, just my view.
