Topic: Virtual DJ + software sampler

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Ok I'm trying to get Virtual DJ to work with my software sampler I have, I figured I would record a mix from "what you hear" or "wave" so that it would record everything my PC hears, that seemed to work and my samples from my software were recorded fine, but then when I listened to it I could hear where I switched back from one channel to the next and when I slid the slider. Also I could hear in the recording what I would normally hear in my headphones during the mix. So it doesn't work.

So my question, how can I get Virtual DJ to record my samples from my software but still record everything else normally with out screwing it up?

Not to be rude my boy but...first you're a nolicence user so im not sure what your version will allow you to do. but whether or not your sampler can sync up with VDJ if your Vdj version allows Recording (check the bottom broswer section, the record tab should be right of the effects tab) then just record while you play back that which you want to input in your sampler and when youre done look for the file (mp3,wav,mpeg,you have this choices in the Recording page)you just recorded in the folder you have made for this purpose, and drag or copy the file into your sampler's folder where you keep your other samples and uplay it back on your sampler!! hope that made sense...

thanks for the respond but it doesn't make any sence loll

It depends on your setup - Please provide further information such as what sound card(s) you are using and whether you are using an external DJ mixer.

If you only have a single sound card and are recording 'what you hear', then obviously you will also get the pre-listened to track as well because you only have one sound card. For headphone pre-listening you either need two sound cards or a multi-channel sound card such as Numark DJIO, Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ, etc.

If you are using two sound cards with an external DJ mixer, then VirtualDJ and your computer has no way of knowing what you are doing with your mixer. As far as its concerned, both channels are being output at full volume. To record with an external mixer, you will need to run a cable from the REC OUT of your mixer into the line input of your computer's sound card and then use that as your recording source.
