Topic: headphone jack will not work

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

i have 2 hercules RMX's. i have one back home where i live and where i live now. the one i have right now out here where i live, wont play any music too cue up from the headphone jack no matter.. i have the same settings that i used with my other RMX and have all the newest updates for virtualDJ and the hardware.. the weird thing is though, when i plug my headphones into back of the RMX (output 2) i can hear the cue'd music and i can then use the RMX just as if i had my headphones plugged into the headphone jack..

with that said.. my speaker outputs are for output 1 and with the jerry rigged cue setup up i have going on the cue'd music comes out of output 2. no matter what configurations i try in the setup menu this is the only way i can actually be able to play music 'the right way' (meaning, other configs wont work such as if i move the cross fader over to a different deck it'll just cut the music all together.. stuff like that)

here's my setup for my hardware for being able to actually play music

INPUTS: none
OUPUT: headphones (master: right channel/headphones: left channel)
SOUND CARD: hercules RMX

anybody know any fixes or what might be causing the problem? i don't think the mic jack works either, but i don't ever use a mic.

Just so we are on the same page:

- When you refer to the Rmx Outputs, you mean Output 1 (marked as Output 1 & 2 on the back) and Output 2 ( marked as Output 3 & 4 on the back) ?

- As well, regarding the VDJ configuration. do you have:

OUPUT: headphones (master: Chan 1&2 /headphones: Chan 3&4)

oh yea sorry, that's what i meant.. i meant output 1 as output 1&2 and output 2 as output 3&4.

i see nothing to what you're referring too for OUPUT: headphones (master: Chan 1&2 /headphones: Chan 3&4)

i forgot to also mention that this RMX that is giving me these problems was the display at the store i got it at (it was the very last one they had in stock). i knew i ran the risk of something not working right on it when i got it, but i got it anyway.. this could also have something to do with it.

Which version of VDJ are using exactly ?

This is the headphone configuration you should have with v6 (the most recent version being 6.08).

If you have anything else like LEFT and RIGHT channel for this menu, you probably selected something like External mixer.

The headphone output is duplicated on output 3&4, so if the headphone jack is not working (which could indeed be the case with a store sample), you could use a Y adapter to connect your headphone to the back instead.

i have the newest update, 6.08 like you said.

i guess i should probably just accept the fact that it probably has something to do with being the display model.

you're right with the headphone output being duplicated on output 3&4, that's what i've been using but don't have the Y thing you're talking about so i can only plug it into one side and only comes out on my headphones on the right side. only problem i have with doing this is that it seems as though i can't control the volume of the headphones then. i've opened up the hercules dj series control panel and turned the volume on output 3&4 all the way up. the volume is good for when i'm at home messing around.. but when i go DJ at parties the music is pretty loud and it's hard to hear my headphones.. i look like an idiot having to close one hear and press my headphones up against my head to really hear what i have cue'd up. so my question is, is there anyway i can control the volume of output 3&4 besides the hercules control panel?

The obvious best solution for parties would be using a mixer (even a small one): Use one channel for the main mix, another for cueing, and you have control over the headphone volume.

never thought of that haha.. that's good news though cause i'm in the process of looking for a good mixer with effects anyhow.. get to kill 2 birds with one stone now. NICE!
