Hi Everyone.
How many of you still take out cd collections when you DJ If your answer is yes how do you categorize them. I am looking for a solution as I am slowly heading back to djing with my cd's again. I do not want to put them in cases like case logic where you have pages and pages of cd's I am looking for an indexing system that i can flip through and hold the inlay cards with track details. Any help would be great.

I cannot believe that computer users rely so much on there system. Recently I did a gig with a Denon HD2500 and through the evening it went crazy buttons and lights going mad. The thing is that I did not take any back up so had to do a restart not only that it wanted to create a list of all the tracks which too 30 mins or so and then only to find out not all the songs could be found. I was in the Sh...t big time but managed just about. I have got my money back for the Denon and will never buy another of these units.

I've been using laptops to DJ with since 1999. First I used PCDJ Red, then BPM Studio and moved to VDJ over 2 years ago. I have never had a crash or the music stop on me ever in a gig.
I also never take any backup of any sort.
Maybe it's just luck or maybe I make sure my setups are tested and rock solid.
I know many DJ's who don't know what they are doing with PC's, drivers, folder management etc. and some use cracked software (mostly VDJ funnily enough). The ones who "think" they know what they are doing and dick around with Windows files and drivers are the ones with most problems.
Coincidentally I have used the Denon HC-4500 with VDJ from the start and have had no problems whatsoever.

I also own a HC4500 and I must say I have never had a problem with this unit. But I am slowly going back to just using CD's so some help in my first question would be great. I just love the feel of cd's and it also gives me more work to do instead of just standing there letting Virtual Dj do its job which is brilliant.
