I've read the manuals, plugged in the wires every which way -- I just can't get this setup going.
Keep in mind I don't have the proper cables to do Timecode control from my CD decks -- hopefully they arrive Tuesday/Wednesday. So this set up is for Laptop/SoundCard/Mixer/CD Decks.
I'm running: MacBook Pro, Audio 4 Box, Denon Mixer, Denon 4500 CD decks.
I thought:
I could set the Audio 4 card to "Line" & VDJ configured to "External Mixer" and I would hear (L) deck on "Channel 1" and (R) deck on "Channel 2" -- and I'd be able to cue accordingly.
I have my Audio 4 Box plugged USB into Mac and Output 1/2 into Mixer "Channel 1" and Output 3/4 into Mixer "Channel 2" --- but when I go to play songs on (L) and (R) decks in VDJ, everything comes through "Channel 1" --- and I have NO idea how I am supposed to cue the next song!
Even when I set VDJ to Mixer/Headphones, I can't hear anything in headphones.
What the heck am I doing wrong?

You could try to make a custom aggregate device for the audio 4 and see if it works that way?

I had the same situation and it was an issue in the audio midi setup in the macbook pro....very simple fix if that is what it is.
Go to Utilities, Audio Midi Setup and configure speakers to "Multichannel" and "quadrophonic"
Hope this fixes your issue...

thanks, i tried changing the speaker configuration to "multichannel" and "quadrophonic" but that didnt seem to work -- everything is still coming out on my Mixer Channel 1 -- can't figure out why it won't split VDJ (L) to Channel 1 and VDJ (R) to Channel 2 --- so frustrating.

Did you ever figure this out? We have the same issue. Long ago this worked perfect for us using the DJIO, one day it stopped. So we bought the Audio 4, still doesnt work. Everything comes out of one channel. We have tried EVERYTHING and it has to be the MAC.
This works perfectly with our PC. Now we are stuck using our backup PC because our MAC just wont work for us since we cannot queue or crossfade correctly.
