Topic: Issue with VDJ 6.0.8 and xponent using SBDJ's mapper

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hello:
After running VDJ with xponent and SBDJ mapper for version 6.x succesfully since my recent purchase of VDJ, earlier today I ran into a weird situation using SBDJ's mapper for the xponent where one of the shift button was activated and I wasn't able to deactivate it. I was able to switch from one button to the other or both activated. However, one button (either/or) was always activated. I'm using SBDJ mapper for the xponent with VDJ Pro 6.0.8. on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, AMD Turion 64x2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz, 3Gb Ram and 32-bit Operating System. Xponent Version: Panel:1.0.1.11, Panel: 5.10.00.5112, Firmware1.0.0. I had downloaded the lastest drivers for xponent but was having problems with the M- Audio Task Bar Icon Applet so I reverted to the previous version. I was wondering if anyone has come across this or a similar situation as well as other issues that I should be aware of. Any and all information is greatly appreciated. BTW, SBDJ mapper for xponent is a great mapper, although I was wondering if SBDJ is working on a newer and better version of it. Thanks in advanced.

The situation seems to occur when the shift button is pressed while holding the other shift button. Is this normal? Thanks again.

I've not heard of that issue before.

I won't be updating the mapper; it's a legacy from the days when I wrote my original mapper in C++. I was asked to write something similar for v6, so I created that XML mapping. The joy of v6 is that you can edit that mapping yourself easily ;)

Thanks for your prompt response. The mapper is awesome. Would you happen to have a mapper for the Akai MPD 32? I know that you said that VDJ 6 allows to map easily. However, your work with the xponent is so good that I can only imagine a mapper for the Akai made by you would be in the same category. Thanks SBDJ for the xponent mapper, I'll get deeper into the mapping with the wikis available. Also, I installed mappers for the nanopad and nanokontrol (they work as written) but I lost the Generic Midi option. Is there a limit of hardware mapped to VDJ that you know of? If not, any suggestion in retrieving the Generic Midi option? Thanks,
Peter

The simple MIDI option only appears when a MIDI device is connected that doesn't have a definition within VDJ - if all your MIDI devices are 'known' then simple MIDI isn't available because there is no hardware for it to use.

I don't have the Akai, so unfortunately I do not have a mapper.

If you do need any mapping assistance then the community here is always very helpful.

The limit of the number of devices VDJ can support is limited only by physical connectivity and the operating system on which it is running.

good evening, help needed mapping new xponent with latest VDJ .i have downloaded SBDJ Mapping and it is in mapping folder. first problem is within VDJ mappers it shows as m-audio xponent mapper ,and doesn't show SBDJ,which according to notes i 've read means i have copied file incorrectly. XML file doesn't Mention SBDJ although ZipPed file it is in does.2nd. problem i have used mappers key and learn for Hot Cues however when i start up aGAIN any key learn functions i have done have not been held in memory, and mapper has gone back to it's original state.please help,am i missing something obvious to the clued up? I Repeatedly Get And Keep Punters On Dance Floor Although Im Not Having Much Luck With this. Please help me fellow dj's Bazooo DJ KJ CPNS

If the XML file in the zip is different to the one you have in your Mappers folder then that would suggest you haven't copied it correctly.

If mapping changes are not being saved then there would appear to be a problem with VDJ writing to that file.

Is it read only?
Does it have restricted file permissions?

The reason VDJ cannot write to the file may be the same reason your copy failed. Delete the original XML, copy mine in, does it copy OK?
