Hey guys,
got 2 questions for you guys,
My setup is the following. Maya 44 usb, 600 watt amplifier, 300 watt speakers, hercules dj control mp3 2 ( soon to be reloop rmp1) Asus g50 laptop running virtual dj6 pro
Now the first problem is, whenever i have everything hooked up (maya into laptop, amp into maya, headphones into laptop soundcard for cueing) i get a lot of static through the speakers, this however is only when the power supply is connected.
And the second problem is, when the power supply is not connected to the laptop, i get no static but when i play my music and mix in virtual dj, sometimes there is like a crunching noise when the music is played back. I think this might be because of virtual dj because when i play the mp3s normally without virtual dj, there is no crunching whatsoever.
Many thanks in advance

The first problem is a ground loop. Get a ground loop isolator (e.g. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GROUND-LOOP-ISOLATOR-STOP-BUZZING-NOISE-201-086-/170475884212?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27b1278eb4)
The second problem is probably due to a misconfiguration in settings.

This is a commn problem and is an earth/ground loop.
I solved the problem by buying a 3rd party power supply for my maptop which didn't have the earth pin. Cost me about £25 (30 Euros).
There are other solutions, just do a search of this forum for ground loop...
Cheers,
Roy

Ok thanks so ill check out that earth isolator, that probably makes a lot of sense, seeing as i didnt have the problem before when i have my timecoded vinyl system hooked up. I had the ground wires connected from the turntables to the maya, the maya to the mixer, and the outputs of the mixer to the amp.
So now i have one more problem, i have a behringer djx750 mixer, and when i had the timecoded system hooked up i had a lot of lag ( about a second) when i cued up tracks in my headphones. This happens when i have the headphones connected to the maya or the mixer, however cueing tracks is right on time when i connect the headphones to the primary soundcard on my laptop.
Is there anyway to run a cd timecode system, using the maya as both inputs, outputs and split the audio for headphone cueing, so basically using the maya for both audio interface and cueing?
