Ok. so my laptop has started misbehaving quite badly.
It is a Dell latitude D630 running XP pro.And has been fantastic, up until now...
When started up it gives a bleached out Split Screen with 2 squished up images ov the desktop. it will work, as in, i have a cursor and can open applications but the Screen is still bleached and split. When i go to Control Panel - Sysetm - Device Manager and look at the Display adapter a NVIDA Quadro NVS 135M it say's its not working properly but i've tried to update the software but it still has the split screen!!!
Any Ideas?
Got a gig on Saturday so i'm gettin quite desperate...
A friend has offered his Laptop for my gig, so can i use my Hercules install disk and get the updated software from VDJ?

lower your resolutions,
if that doesn't work
delete the driver and reboot (both the monitor and the video card)
if that doesn't work

Thanx babe.
......(my opening post may have given the impression that i know what i'm talking about but i'm a bit green with all this technology stuff) if i delete the drivers wont my screen not work? so how do i see what i'm doing after that?
now, thats more like my usual dumbness!!!

try roll back driver before deleting....but first did you change resolution or skin or mess with the display settings.
check your display settings and return to default and see what happens

If I remember... I believe it's your video processor gone bad. I had to change the motherboard for the same problem on the similar Dell lappy. google your model and the problem. You will probably find that same answer.

thanx i'll try those sugesstions as soon as the F***ING ting stops cycling between the boot up page and the error page!!! i can't get a word in!!
i've tried Googling the problem and there seem to be rather a lot ov people who have experienced this problem with NVIDIA. Lots ov replies talking about taking it back under warrenty as quickly as possible... Mine is at least 5 years out ov warrenty!!! DRATS!!!
Other posts about updating the display drivers (tried this, didn't work) and BIOS driver patches(think i tried this but either didn't work cos i didn't do it properly or it has caused this eternal cycling!!!) DOUBLE DRATS!!!

I'm gona try taking it back to the shop and BEGGING for help.
