Man, there is no playlist for diverse places or diverse gigs. Thats what your are there for.
Get all the popular music for each genre. Be familiar with the songs from each genre that are bound to be big hitters. Try each genre out, and play off the energy of the crowd. When they're asking your to be diverse, theyre just letting you know what to expect. They wont care what you play as long as you got the crown hype and coming back for more.
Dont get strung up on thinking you HAVE to play 1/3 hip hop, 1/3 latin, etc. Play what you feel is good, and if it's your first time there, you can even take requests from the crowd.
Practice makes perfect.

Im from Queens NYC, I could help you out. When your starting out in the beggining hours of the night, you can play some old dance songs, Up beat R&B songs etc. Just mix it up because your only playing music to set the mood. Ill explain over the phone... at 11 or 12 am, you start to bring it up and let loose. At 2am, you get busy and tear down the house..

Greetings,
Best thing I can suggest is to invest time in controlling your music. Review songs and make sure they are perfect from front to end.
Use the "Genre" tag to group the music. Build filters like Hip-Hop, House, Disco, Slow Jams, ... etc with the formula: genre contains "xxxxx" where x is the name of the genre.
Do some research and print off charts of top 100s. Take them with you.
Check to see if you have wireless internet access. Use a second pc/laptop for access especially if this is a big club and glitches are not tolerated. You can download any requests you get and transfer them to your gig deck. Preview your downloaded song the best you can to eliminate problems.
Set cue marks to start your song at the right spot and Cue marks to jump into the song or jump to the end. I used to use 6 cues per song with a previous skin. But I cut back to 3. Beginning, middle, & end.
See if you can get a morning or afternoon to get some practice in the club. Practice... practice... practice.
The more prepared you are the more you can relax and display confidence. Good luck to you.
Regards,
JimJamz

Hey JimmyL,
That was some of the best advice ever!!!! I was going to tell him to be himself and enjoy the gig blah blah blah. But you gave him tools that we all at times forget about. after 27 years of DJing, this old dog will also take your advice to heart. Thanks bro.
