Hi all,
I'm finally selling my equipment and looking to get motorised platters now.
I've been offered approx USD $1550 for my pair of icdx units and the old ecler nuo4 mixer including the roadcase. Not sure I can get much more? hmm anyways...
I've come across a ridiculously low priced denon DNHS5500 and thinking I might go for that or just get the NS7.
Anyone use the DNHS5500 with vdj? Does it work well? How about the NS7? I know the mixer on the NS7 isnt midi which is the disappointment. Build quality?
I've heard denon gear hasnt been working well with vdj atm hence why I am asking...

Get the Denon 3700. I owned the Pioneer CDJ 1000mk3s and the denon are better. I put them thru the stress test dj iing for hours outside in the heat a couple of times and they passed. Dont buy the 5500. You can buy the decks for 720 each and as a bonus, you get a 100 dollar rebate (Each deck) from denon thats 1440 Minus 200 = 1240 brand new.. Ignore the price you see in the web site.. call the phone..

I also have the NS7. It works great but i preffer the denon's over it.

You can also consider the V7's from Numark ... but the 3700s are a good choice as well.
Not the greatest mix - but gives you an idea ... :)

why motorized platters????? CDJ 2000's are pretty awesome.., i own a set and i'm in love with them.... i have tried alot of other things out there, and YES some features of other products might better than the pioneer, but if you ever want to play in a club or some concert as an opening act, CDJ's are industry standard.... everywhere in the world... why get used to something else then show up at the party and have a hard time playing on other people gear and having them think your an idiot cause you can't use cdj's..... there's my 2 cent's

Static platters you are limited in the scratching techniques you can do and doesnt have the same vinyl emulation.
I have no problem dj'n on CDJ's. Looping/Cue/Play & platter control is pretty much standard on all players. All the bells & whistles I don't have a real interest in with effects and cue point saving etc. I'm a mobile dj, so only interested in what works for me. Adding a bit of wow factor at my gigs is always a plus.
