Hey, I'm thinking about making the switch from PC to Mac for my gigging computer and was wondering what your suggestions would be as to what model of Mac Book Pro I should go with. They have a student discount thing this month that'll save me a few bucks.
I'll be using the program for video mixing so I would want it to do that as close to perfectly as possible (part of the reason I'm moving away from PC is because there is a delay everytime I load a video file). So what model would you guys recommend?
Thanks for your time

What size are you looking for? A fifteen inch is probably the sweet spot. IMHO, whichever model you get, they are already pretty much spec'd out so you can't go wrong with any of them. I would personally go for the cheapest fifteen inch MacBook Pro.

I'm not super concerned about what size it is, I just want it to run vdj super smooth with the videos and all without buying more computer than I need.

i just ordered a Macbook Pro 2.66GHz Intel Core i7
8GB 1066MHZ DDR3 SDRM - 2X4GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
I got a 17" cause I want the visual ease but the smaller ones will save $ and work the same. I do alot of loop mixing & the videos would jump which I attribute to process memory. I use the Hercules DeeJay trim soundcard w/cd & turntable controllers. It should be here any day & I will update.
