Hey guys
This is my first time on this forum so please don't just trash me because I'm aware this is a total noob question
so in like 2 weeks I'm djing a small wedding for a friend and I'll just be using Virtual Dj right from my computer
My question is about a mic
Will one of those mic/headphones combos work?
The issue I guess is that, I don't have a dedicated microphone port on my computer
So I was wondering if those mic and headphone combos would work in the headphone port
OR
If i have to get some sort of a USB microphone
EDIT: I just realized that the speakers would be plugged into my headphone port, therefore I need a USB microphone right? Will all be compatible?
Please answer and try not to flame me too hard

Come on, we are not that bad around here ;) Never used it, but I have heard the USB mic suggestion before. Sounds like that is your only option.
I was new about 1 year ago. This forum and software will take you far. Good luck man.

No my friend you will need to run your computer to a Mixer with a mic input then off to your speakers as VDJ does not support a mic.

IF you have a soundcard there are at least 2 ways you can do this
otherwise you need to use the mixers mic input
i wouldn't use a mic/headset combo , it makes you look a little like Tom Terrific
if you know what i mean .....

Follow above advice.
Also if this is a trial version, remember it is good for only 20days.
So be sure that you are still able to use the software before hand.

What are you connecting your laptop to? I assume you will have some decent sized speakers and amplification - and by that I don't mean a home surround sound system ;-)
Are you hiring any equipment? Sound, Lights? If so, ask them about providing you a mic as well...
Cheers,
Roy
