this may be a really dumb idea, but I'll throw it out anyway as i have tried heaps of different ways to sync acapellas through the sampler...
Would it be possible to redub an acapella with an inaudible beat marker eg 30Hz, so you couldn't hear it but VDJ could pick it up and lock it in time? Or does Virtual DJ only operate in a certain frequency range? Any thoughts...

virtual 5 had a bmp lock option on the sampler but i upgraded to 7 and it does not have it so i am not using my sampler at the moment

Instead of using the sampler, why not use another deck. Deck 3 or 4 for instance. I also do something similar, acapella on deck 3 and rhythm fills on deck 4, main tunes on 1 and 2.

30Hz is still in the accepted range of human hearing and decent PA systems are certainly capable of reproducing it - you need to go that low for dubstep!
As said above, load it onto a deck and you'll have the CBG grid at your disposal. If the beat isn't consistent then load it up into live, warp, export and load the warped track into VDJ (or you could possibly use rewire).
You could always do it the old fashioned way - by ear :)
