I have one question that might seem like a few questions, so please bear with me. ;-) I am ready to make the jump to Virtual DJ and am not really sure what hardware would be best for me... I\'m a mobile DJ that doesn\'t do any scratching or club type stuff, but I would like to mix a little. I\'m wondering if the Hercules RMX would be best or to go with the Numark DMC-2? Now I would still have to have a board correct? Like a Denon DN-X500, or could I just run a regular sound board in my DJ rig? I guess I\'m just not sure what the best and easiest set-up would be for me... Any suggestions or help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so much for your time.

I have both. Been using the DMC2 for quite awhile, and just bought another used one for back up. I just got the RMX, and have not taken it live yet, because I am still doing some testing. The difference between the two are; first the DMC2 is discontinued so you will have to find one the hard way. Second, you will still need a sound card, and a mixer. With the RMX, you are set to go out the door, and you are ready. It has a sound card and a mixer built in. It is mapped to VDJ, or you can change some of the functions, to fit your needs. It comes with a little carrying case, or you may want to buy a custom case from Marathon or Odyssey. There are some other controllers on the market in every price range. It boils down to what works for you, and how much you want to spend.
I have just been informed that some of the buttons on the RMX, do not light up, because they do not have LEDs in them. The Steel offers the same functions as the RMX, but you will need a sound card. However, all the buttons light up.
Take a look here.
