Topic: M-Audio XPonent with VDJ (totally new to this)

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi there,

Quick background info : found a XPonent rather cheap (100 euro's) and decided to jump on the wagon of bedroom-DJ'ing ;-)
After installing the trial version of VDJ this afternoon, it seems to work like a charm : the XPonent is detected nicely and after fiddling around with it, it seems to be quite a powerful piece of software. Love the sync'ing option! (especially great for people starting out like myself - I refrain from using the word 'newbie' :-) )

There's one problem though : whatever I tried, I can not get the audio coming from the headphone connected to my XPonent (volume knob headphone is completely open). I think it has more to do with my total lack of knowledge related to this but I've included a screenshot of my current settings + a schematic overview of my current setup (as easy as it gets : Xponent gets power + connected with USB > PC outputs sound to my speakers).
The screenshot + overview : http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/2529/xponentwithvdj.png

If anyone could point me what I need to change, that would be very appreciated (extra cable? settings?)
cheers,
Johan

your setup is wrong man!
I sold my exponent so I am going off the top of my head here.
1) Go to M-Audio's website and download the xponent's asio drivers and install them on your computer.
2) connects your speakers to the master output of your xponent.
3) open up virtual DJ and go into config ==>> Sound Setup. Under sound card select asio xponent (I forgot what its called but its something like that). Click apply and then OK

This should solve your problem.

Indeed! It was :-)

For posterity and for all those struggling with the same problem :
Connected my MASTER OUTPUT to my speakers and also set the following parameters :
Output : Headphones (Master : Chan 1 + 2 / Headphones : Chan 3 + 4)
Sound card : ASIO - ASIO4ALL v2 (freely downloadable) > the Win7 M-Audio ASIO driver is not working as it should (even gave me my first BSOD on W7!)

So : thanks again Magagar for your help! Now the learning can begin ;-)
cheers and all the best,
/dimi
