Every time I load up a song, it freezes the program for about 5 seconds, but the sound continues without any problems, just an interface issue.
Also, actions on the DJ Console RMX don't register until the program is unfrozen(volume changes, bass kill...etc)
Are there any patches out there that fix this?

With the information you provide I can only guess it's a problem related to your computer, installation or hard drives. It should not be the program. Videos are much heavier on loads than songs and I don't have such lag in any VDJ version, much less when I load songs, they load on an instant. I have 2 Macs (one with Leopard and one with Snow Leopard), so I try first on one for testing then the other. However, there is a driver update on Hercules website that is "newer" that the one that comes with the install discs. Try it out if you haven't.

If this don't help, specify your computer specs, OS, hard drives speed and connection.

One question, does this also happens with the Hercules unplugged?

i have also a small lag on my macbook pro when i load a new song could be that vdj mac ver. is not that good as the win ver. ?
it feels a bit havy... my mac book pro is new and i have snow leopard 10.6 any idea how to fix the small lag/freeze ?
 
Sounds like your drive is falling asleep. What kind of drives do you use? Did you turn off all power savings settings? I do not have a Mac Pro to check only an IMac and Mackbook Pro.
 
i have a macbook pro and the hard dive turn off mode is uncheck and all power saver is on never.
 
Just out of curiosity, do you have an external drive to check if the same lag happens on load with it? I assume you use the internal one, I only use external drives for music and video files.

Same issue here. Here is my fix:

I had a 320 Portable HD 5400RPM and would freeze but music would play and be fine in a few seconds. This was with USB 2.0 Connection.

I switched to a Larger external drive 7200RPM and 1TB through Firewire 800 and I have had no issue what so ever, No freeze nothing.
At first I thought I needed more RAM (I have 2GB now) but it just needed a faster connection and hard drive speed bump.

i am working with the internal hard drives and having a small lag so what can it be ?
