Why did you use Mono Channels and not stereo?

I tried doing it the stereo way but that would give me 1 and 3 on the same channel or 2 and 4 on the same channel.
See how the OUTPUTS arent seperated like in the picture above..........thats way I did it the mono way.

The manual is really hard to understand...........I think the average joe would not get it, in my opinion.
Basicly like just picking the Maya in the soundcard window ( the first screen, 2timecodes, exturnal mixer, then picking your soundcard). So splitting it into mono gave me a way to seperate all 4 plus if you use that splitter rca you still have a stereo signal comin in and going out. At least I think thats how it works, lmao!! I havent tried it on a big system yet but Im pretty sure it sound good. Now if I had an Audio DJ 8 by NI WHOA!! You could hook up a gang of tables, lmao!! I am gonna try the 4 tables tonight so I'll look for that charger and redo this video plus add that, if it works like I think it should, lol!!

I understand the reason why you used mono, but you may also understand that your sound will not be true stereo.
Inviato Thu 14 Oct 10 @ 5:15 pm
Hmmm..........ok how would you set it up? I tried a bunch of different combos and that was the only way I could get it to work. Am I missing something?
Thanks for the time

Is there a different way that would be in true stereo? I thought that since I'm routing both left and the right it would be stereo.............can someone from the team chime in?
Basiclly I want to know, "Are all 4 of my channels in stereo with the way I have set it up?"
Thanks for your time and info

The Maya44 doesn't have enough channels for 4 separate stereo outputs to an external mixer. It can either output 4 mono or 2 stereo.

So even though it says I have the "left" and the "right" routed out of 1 output its still not a stereo signal??

I'm really confussed now.............

hehe ... nothing is wrong with your setup. This is actually the only way to have 4 channel output with a sound card that has only 2.
What i initially meant is that, yes, you will get "stereo" output, meaning that you will hear music from both left-right speakers, balance in your mixer will work too, BUT you will not be able to hear the different sound that a stereo song MIGHT have, like all the people on the left...all the people on the right, if you understand what i mean...
Anyway if you are going to use 4 decks all the time (and not just for testing) , consider your self buying a sound card like Audio8.

Basically you are combining the left and right stereo channels of a deck into a single mono output.
