Is it at all possible to map an unused button on my NDX800's to switch between decks 1 & 3-left and 2 & 4-right and control all 4 decks while in MIDI Mode?

Im sure you're aware that the eject button on the NDX800s in midi mode cycles through the decks. As far as mapping the left deck to just cycle deck 1 and 3, and the right deck to just cycle deck 2 and 4........i've been messing around with some of the mapping scripts but havent got it to work that way.

Yes I'm aware of that, but I can't figure that out either. Thanks though.

Has this issue been resolved yet? Is it just me, or does it seem like considerable functionality is lost in not being able to use use two separate NDX800's simultaneously to manipulate each side of the virtual decks in VDJ? I just got my brand new cdj's, and it would be nice to use them via Midi in VDJ 7 Pro as if they actually were two separate "virtual" decks, seems kind of pointless to design the Midi function if this is not possible, unless you guys never use this type of functionality in your mixes...? Basically, I have two NDX800's in VDJ 7 (running in external mixer mode) and I want to lock one of them to controlling decks 1 & 3 via USB, and the other locked to controlling decks 2 & 4. Any feedback would be much appreciated, as I'll be receiving my Pioneer DJM-700 mixer in a couple days as the final piece of my new studio setup, and I'd really like to maximize functionality. Anyway, if anyone has any thoughts, or maybe a team member can give me a heads up, it would make my day!

@ zmadhatter, the answer is yes. But, if you are using an external mixer... It has to be a 4 channel mixer. You can download the mapper for the NDX 800's in the tool section. It works for all 4 decks. But u can't hear 3 & 4 unless you have enough channels. Hope this helps.

I have the latest version of VDJ 7, which I thought had the latest mapper built in, is there a newer one that I have to download? What about updated firmware for the 800's? I'm aware that the eject button cycles decks, but you're telling me that with the new mapper, one 800 can be locked to either deck 1 (or 1 & 3) and the other 800 can be locked to deck 2 (or 2 & 4) simultaneously? The Pioneer is a 4 channel mixer, and I do have enough output channels between my sound cards to support a dedicated line from my laptop and VDJ to the mixer for each of the four channels. Is there any custom settings or mapping I need to do? Or just an updated mapper I need to download? I'll look in the tools section, but a little more info might be nice...
Thanks for the quick response, I really appreciate it!

wow I have read so many conflicting stories regarding operating 2 x Numark NDX800 decks in midi mode with one laptop and two usb cables.
Some say there is no way you can run them both through VDJ 7 as they share the usb or something.
others say different.
I am looking at buying 2 x NDX800's. Mainly want it for the midi functions to run both decks in VDJ 7. I have a seprate external mixer, running on an dual core AMD processor, vista, 4g ram.
Can anyone confirm at this point in time, if this can be done inVDJ 7 7.0.3
or can it be done in another software package.
I was hoping to then have the usb or cd as my back up if laptop fails.
Someone said you link the two decks together and use one usb cable back out to laptop.

VirtualDJ supports identical controllers to be used at the same time. NDX800s too of course. The Eject button will cycle through available decks. In case you need to run 4 software decks, you can choose the deck assignment by going to Config->Mappers->mapper options button->deck assignment. Also you may need to assign a key with a proper script action to swap between decks (lefts and rights)
You will need to purchase VirtualDJ Pro Full version to control the NDX800 in midi mode, or you may try VirtualDJ Home Free version for 10 minutes at a time. http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html

Each NDX-800 will need its own USB connection to your computer. However, as above, you can use two of them in the latest v7.0.3
