Hi all,
Just had a another wedding on the weekend. Got to say it was the longest I've ever done and it was free for a friend (never again.. done 2 freebies this year already). Started at 12pm just before ceremony and finished at 9.30pm. I had to call it a night because the wife was at breaking point for how long it went by the time 8pm came. It was a friends wedding so alot of the time it was autoplay until the evening came. By that time most people were tired anyways lol.
Would of loved to have the iphone app available just to organise the autoplaylist away from the decks and adjust volume. (I havent normalised my tracks)
Anyways 9.5hours is my record.... don't think I'll want to attempt that again even if was getting paid.
I finally got some half coupler clamps for my lights to fit to my speaker stands instead of using a t-bar. I'm running telescopic speaker poles off my floor standing speakers for the lights. Its a godsend, setup/packdown was a breeze. Finally bought a keyboard bag also after so many years of carrying all my stands separately meaning multiple trips to the car. Love it, highly recommend.

Yeah Chuck but you've got 14 hours of eye candy. I certainly wouldn't be complaining!
My normal 5 hour gig can be long enough, especially since the club can only have a handful of people for the first 2 hours .....

I think the longest gig I've probably done was at a huge 48 hour music event in my local city. There were several different stages. The one we was performing on had multiple DJs that had dropped out - and we agreed to fill in for them. I think from start to finish we was on stage for 16 hours. Nice income from it, but it almost killed us!

Best friends wedding early Oct I was set-up and playing @ noon as guests began showing up and had to end it myself @ 8 PM, otherwise they would have kept me going.... also a freebie.
Have done a gig twice where they wanted Luau music outside for 4 hours, then move inside and play another 4 hours of dance... that sucked.
Factor in set-up & break-down and it's a long ass day.

8.5 hours for the Sprint Customer appreation celebration outside of a Nascar race (forget which one) Played for parking lots ful of tailgating race fans. I did not repete a song all day.
I have had a few double booked days and those are the hardest. Set up and tear down X2 plus play time.

11 Hours: A high school "lock In" where I was TRAPPED in a school gym from 9:00 PM till 8:00 AM the following morning with a group of 15-17 year olds. This was in the mid 90's and I remember thinking the next morning how much I disliked "Nirvana" and the Seattle Grunge sound. They beat me to death with that stuff. I moved on from doing high school gigs and never looked back.
I still find "GRUNGE" highly annoying. :^)

Twelve noon to 2am, it was a bank holiday and the guy didn't turn up for the 7pm shift and I got lumbered, few years back this and was only using cd's so was very selective when having to nip to the loo, management and bar staff were great though, kept me supplied in the liquid stuff, lol.

My longest was 8 hours. It was from 9pm to 5am on New Years Eve going from the year 1999 to the year 2000. I played the entire time without a break. Quite a busy long night but fun :-)

I've just started doing a double gig every Friday. 2 hours in a bar then move my gear 50 yards into a nightclub and normally do 4 hours for the same people. However, last Friday the nightclub had a special event on with a later license til 4am so, total was 8 hours.
I've also DJed in Ibiza every year for the last 5 years. One of the gigs is an afternoon at a beach bar, it is 5 hours solid of pure beatmixed Deep House music harmonically mixed. Originally used Traktor with Mixed In Key, the last 3 years I've used VirtualDJ (made it much easier). Takes a lot of concentration (no microphone).

10 hours is my max so far, but I am in the works to try to break the Guinness World Record for Dj-in NON-Stop with some local charities & the major shopping mall in my area. Wish me luck lol

The longest day I've had was on 5th Dec 2009 - 6 Dec 2009.
I live in Singapore (Which is in south east asia for those who dont know. Just bordering Malaysia). I had a gig in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 5th from 7pm - 12 midnight. Once I was done there, we had to drive back to Singapore for 3 1/2 hours, just to be in time for my second gig which started at 4am (I was deejaying at one of the biggest marathons in Singapore). I was spinning all the way from about 5am - 12 noon.
If you add up the hours I was actually spinning, it adds up to about 12. But by the time I ended, I had not slept for about 26 hours. Really nasty experience. Never again!
