Topic: Help with Akai APC40 mapping

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

Hi All

Im taring to map my Akai apc40 to VDJ. so far everything worked perfect the mapper in VDJ.7 is great .every button has like 3 functions from the modifiers really good stuff no limits to what you want to do with the program now .thank you VDJ team for this .

the only issue i faced is the LEDs . i couldnt make them to turn on !?!

i read that theres two types of mapping and i need a Definition file . downloaded the one by "nici the kyd" but couldnt do anything regarding that .the mapper in the program worked very effective with the device but the leds :) is the only frustrating matter in this .

the Akai has 6 codes for the leds my guess and "im totally not good at this stuff " the leds didnt work because the commands for the leds are to send either an on or a blink command, and i need to put something with the code .again im not sure .

any help will be appreciated guys
many thanks and happy mixing

You will need to create a proper definition file for the controller for LED's to work along with other advanced functionality: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/ControllerDefinition.html

The definition by "nici the kyd" looks incomplete and does not include a mapper (Both a definition file in My Documents\VirtualDJ\Devices and a matching mapper file in My Documents\VirtualDJ\Mappers is required for the controller to be recognised by VirtualDJ.)

For further information on VDJscript, including examples of common mappings, please see:

Hey Trancer,

PM me your email and ill send you my definition and maps. It has all the colors of the main buttons and all of the other lighted keys. I have several different maps for different situations, 2 deck, 4 deck, 6 deck, video and a combination of all of those. I will also send you a blank template of the map so you can map it however you would like.

All of this is without a Midi translator so the track selection buttons can not be used and master track has to be selected at all times. Some of the buttons are toggles and some are triggers. You'll know what I mean.

Hi, I am having the same difficulty with mapping my APC40's LEDs. I have dugg all over the internet and not found anything that has gotten me to a solution. Can someone help me by providing some examples of the scripting?

Why you don't post your mapper to the add-on page instead ?
Other people and you will be benefit from this.

I was under the impression that only experienced users were able to upload VDJ tools and whatnots. Hell ya I'll share what I've done!! Its taken me quite a while to get it to where its at today buts its stable!! I'll upload it when I get home tonight.

Works like a dream on my netbook. Sweet-tastic-nastiness.
Mad respect for all of this. Donated on your page. Keep up the good work and keep that beat thumpin'!
