i am trying to use VDJ 7 using the 4 deck skin and controlling each deck with a seperate timecode, using 2 soundcards 1=maya 44 USB and the other =hercules RMX, i am trying to set it up via the advanced config option but keep getting an error message, i have tested each sound card on its own and they are working fine.

i don't think you can use two soundcards and timecodes. someone please correct me. if i recall right i have read this in another thread.
 
Hi, thanks for your answers, surely if VDJ is going to produce version 7 with 4 decks then there must be a way to control all 4 decks via timecodes?
 
I have been doing a bit of research on how this can work and I have come across asio4all, can anyone tell me if I would be able to use it to combine the 2 soundcards into one?
 
I can control all 4 decks with 2 timecodes. But im pretty sure you could use 4 timecodes cause its in the advanced config. In the first drop down it shows timecodes 1-4 so I would assume it boils down to ones soundcard. I have the NI 8 so ill see what I can do this weekend and report back.

I have both the Hercules RMX and MK controllers and I also have Numark DMC2 AND the Numark DXM01USB which has the built-in sound cards.

I have been able to use either herc controller as DECKS 1 & 2 and the Numark DMC2 as DECKS 3 & 4 (with the DXM01USB as dual soundcard).

BUT, when I attempt to use the herc controller in ASIO mode, it doesn't work in 4 deck configuration. Meanwhile I spoke to Hercules about updating drivers but they say that the ASIO drivers should work fine in a 4 deck configuration.

Intriguing and frustrating as I would LOVE to be able to run 4 decks at once to keep the mixes going on all four decks.
 
ASIO4all will break many things in your setup; I would avoid it. while I have not set up 4 time codes, I have set up 2 time codes with an audio4dj and 2 numark v7's with success in my studio(to much gear for a club set up), so vdj is perfectly content with multiple sound cards. I have a maya 44usb as well, so I'll try to set up with multiple and see if it will work. I'm sure it will as long as you know the limitations of the maya44usb.
 
Agreed. I installed ASIO4ALL and promptly removed it when it does nothing to make my setup work.
