Topic: help me please

okay guys im after some equipment... ive had virtual dj on my computer for a long time and ive spent a lot of time mixing things up and playing for small house party just through peoples own speaker systems and so o, i live in a pub and our dj has stopped playing every friday night and my mum wants me to continue with it... but im completely lost on what i need.. the only thing we have are lights, laptop and music...

the business will be paying for the hardware but i don't know what to get... :/

i also want to be able to run mics through the system...

1) Hercules RMX.
2) QSC RMX2450.
3) JBL JRX115 (2 of 'em).
4) Speaker Stands (2 of 'em).
5) Cables from amp to speakers.
6) Legal copy of VDJ.

This should be enough to start with at your pub.
 
okay well what cables would i need thats were im mainly confused... also if im not being paid to play cna i still use the home system that i run at the moment??

also thanks for the help as im trying to get this stuff before friday.

get your mum to look after the main component that will make all of this tick, tell her she needs to invest in a legal copy of vdj, she can't expect to run a business using iffy software.

install skype if you don't have it, get it at www.skype.com (it's free) and contact me at Firetext.VDJ.Support or PM me, if you can't do that use my blog.

will be a lot easier to run through suppliers depending on your budget for you if you want.
 
yes well i will invest thats not aproblem its all the hardware that i need and im lsot on it if someone could draw up a list of EVERYTHING that i need?

If you buy the speakers and amp I recommended, you will need x2 Binding Post to 1/4" cables. Or x2 Neutrik Speakon to Neutrik Speakon cables.

No. It's a pub, a place of business. It's going to look and sound like crap.
 
if you need something by friday- look at renting from a pro shop- and that will also give you ideas on what you want to end up with inside the pub.

100W and 10" speakers.... Hmmm.

That might work, for a small pub. No more than a 50 people max capacity, though.
 
okay well its just ive been told that about £350 on speakers is maximum my mother will go :/ i did try to get her to go a bit more but she says shes spoke to someone and that should buy a decent pair of speakers... :/ it isnt a large venue ill try find a picture for you... :) also with that mixer will i be able to eventually do karaoke(no idea on how you spell this) through it?

Ok before all that why not buy VDJ??? Is there a reason why you haven't registered your copy yet? You say you've had it for "long time"...........

oh yes thats good is there another choice of amp? orderd the Hercules Console RMX, speaker stands and shall order VDJ pro tonight :) shall order them speakers tonight too all i need now is amp? yes? no? a decent one for a decent price if you get me??

if your meaning the link i gave you ask the guy at the store for prices on a suitable amp and at the same time ask on prices for a graphic equaliser, then ask whats the best price he can do the whole deal for.

I have spoken to him in the past but don't know him personally, gear is good, just have to use your bartering skills.

All that new stuff... must nearly be Crimbo!!!

If your still looking for bits and bobs then checkout GumTree or the Friday-Ad for 2nd hand stuff under Audio or Disco Equipment.
I just bought 2 gemini 202's and a good mixer in a double deck and mixer flight case and loads ov cool disco lights for 300!!! Be carefull though, try ALL the stuff first. But if you are carefull then they are a couple ov good sources ov 2nd hand stuff.

Are you using a laptop or PC?
