I've taken the plunge after 4 years, to update my laptop. Which files will need to copy / re-install on the new machine. I also have DMC2 controller.

Copy the C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\VirtualDJ folder across and that should do it.
You will have to reinstall VDJ in the new machine then overwrite with the VirtualDJ folder from the old machine.
I take it you are using Windows?

the DMC2 is just plug and play. no drivers needed.
