I've used VDJ since May, and I really like it. I was happy to upgrade to V7 because I saw that multiple decks would be supported. I use the system to mix videos in a dance club; and I downloaded a bunch of 4-deck skins today . . none of which seemed to work properly.
Many of them have a bug that separates the audio/video crossfader, even if the "linked crossfader" item is clicked in Video options. When I finally found one that did that part correctly, it failed in the cueing department. If a video is playing on deck 1, crossfade to deck 2, then attempt to cue one up (on deck 3 or 4), the (cueing) sound was sent to the Master regardless of the position of the Crossfader. Yikes!
Does anyone know if these issues are common in the new skins, (and just have to be worked out), or if there is a well-tested, 4-deck skin for us VJ's out there?
Thanks,
Doug

It doesnt seem to me like a skin issue. What equipment (hardware setup) do you use ?
Cueing a deck, means you have to set deck volume to zero !

I am using the default Atomix 4 deck skin with video flawlessly. There is a button in the upper left corner of each deck. Click it to cue the proper deck.
And watch which decks are selected on each side of the crossfader (1234) If you have 1&3 selected you will hear 1&3 on main out. De-select 3, or keep the volume slider down on 3.
It gets a little confusing once in a while, but practice helps. This is the most awesome setup I have ever had in the 30 years I've been DJing.

Jim

Thanks guys. My hardware is a stand-alone Toshiba satellite; no external controllers and such. I just have really carefully mapped keys.
I'll try the Atomix one again. I was aware of the (1,3) (2,4) issue, but the cue issue surprised me. On the 2-deck skin I use now, my "Auto-headphone" is turned on, so dragging a new video to a deck sends the cue audio to the headphones, but not to the Master until "faded to".
I'll try it again... Thanks,
Doug
