I've been a DJ for over 20 years. I'll skip all the variants of DJ'ing that I've experienced. But having owned VDJ for 2 years now, I am finally using it. And liking it. I was on a MacBook Pro (2.4 GHz with 4GB RAM). I still believe that device should be powerful enough to handle video mixing, but it isn't. So I finally jumped to a PC (Intel Core i7 with 3 usable GB RAM) and I'm loving it. The past few gigs of mine have been all video gigs. And with the Hercules MP3 e2 controller, it's been a breeze. No audio or video glitches at all. A couple of times while changing effects (clipbank or slideshow), I'll have to reset the video out - but it's not a big deal.

Being that I jumped from being a lifelong Mac user, I kept my 1.5 TB RAID HD in Mac format. I used a third party app ($50) that allows me to keep that external drive in Mac format. The software does all the PFM (pure magic) ;-) If I ever go to a new Mac, I'll not have to reformat that external drive. If you want info on that software, just let me know.

Just wanted to say hey, I'm loving all the options, scroll text, effects (that I can actually use) and flexibility of the software. I do have a few suggestions for improvement. And I've seen some of those things in other skins. So maybe I need to learn how to make my own skin! Any suggestions?

Although I can't stand using a PC for anything else, I just gave into the fact that (IMO), it appears VDJ is better suited for a PC. And I am "wowing' my clients. So it's a win. I guess. PC you have me for now...Ugh!

Welcome to the dark side, my son. "Luke, I am your father". I'm sorry, I could not help myself. As you have discovered, real men (and Renee) use PCs. Glad to see that things are working out for you. However, I do know a few of the girls on the MAC forum that have great success using MACs and VDJ. Have you asked for help over there? Good luck and keep us informed.
