I've been watching a stream of messages in here that caught my attention.
I see lots of complaints from people with latency issues, and after reading each one, I "knock on wood" because I don't ever have any problems with sound or video dropouts or hiccups.
I've made it a policy of mine to shut off my wireless adapter when doing a gig (just because I don't want my 'puter to ever be connected to a "foreign" network), and things have always been fine.
Just for the heck of it, I just downloaded that DPC Latency Checker that people in other streams have been mentioning.
All was in the green until I turned my wireless adapter on.
Every 60 seconds, the adapter does "something" to cause the graph to go well into the RED zone for 5 full seconds !! That would DEFINITELY equate to a hiccup in streaming audio or video. YIKES!
Shut 'em off folks! If you MUST be connected for some reason, use your Ethernet jack (doesn't seem to require the IRQ hits).
Happy Holidays to all,
Doug

Not all wireless adapters cause this problem though, and it's not solely caused by wireless adapters.
