Hi everyone, have began to use the free version and am considering purchasing the full version

I need some help though...

I am using the free version on my laptop (TOSHIBA C650 1CP), and my external speakers (LOGITECH LS21)are connected through the headphone conncection...
This prevents me from using my headphones to cue the next mix.

What do i need to enable me to cue the next incoming tune in the headphones while still having the music coming out the speakers?

sorry if this is a stupid question but i am not very clued up with this kind of thing, i am used to mixing on 1210's. Any help much appreciated

hi babe.
well, i think you either need a second soundcard for your laptop or a controller that plugs into your laptop, like an Hercules RMX etc which has its own inbuilt soundcard.

Hope that helps some.

Just seen this on another thread...

To be able to pre-listen to music using headphones, you will either need two sound cards or a sound card with multiple outputs, such as a 5.1 surround sound card or preferably a dedicated DJ sound card (E.g: Numark DJIO or Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ.)

With a laptop, you can add a USB stick sound card that will provide you with the additional output that you need.

Alternatively, you can use a single sound card and the mono split option in VirtualDJ's sound setup, however this will only give you MONO sound. You will need a splitter cable to split the left/right channels - Please search Google for: 3.5 jack splitter to mono

Once you have suitable sound card(s), you will then need to go into VirtualDJ CONFIG -> Sound Settings and choose Outputs: Headphones and select the appropriate sound card(s).

Try this... you will need a mixer though or rig up your speakers and headphones to suit your connections to them.

go to config

soundsetup

outputs > external mixer

soundcards > mono seperated

output channels give you white lead/left channel red lead/right channel to your mixer

you will have to use a y splitter for each channel to get dual inputs into mixing desk

which of course will only give you mono sound output

Thanks for the help people :)
