I am very new to this, and I am looking for a mixer (I think) that works with VDJ. I have a macbook pro 13" so I know I have to buy a soundcard if my mixer doesnt have one.
I am looking into the Hercules Steel, but I want to get the best value. Preferably no more than 200$ USD.
Also, is there any other equipment I need besides a mixer and VJD pro and headphones and a laptop?
How can I listen to a track through headphones before it is actually played through speakers?

Hello,
I would recommend the Hercules MK4 to any starter. You will not need the Pro Version, because it comes with a LE Edition that you can stick with, or upgrade to the Pro Version. If you have the money, go ahead and buy the Pro Version, but it is not necessary. The Hercules MK4 runs around $200, but you can get some for around $180. In order to listen to one deck on your headphones, input them on the mixer, and select which deck you want to listen too with the headphone button. I myself have bought and used the Hercules MK4 mixer. It is a great little unit, and when you get good, you can add turntables.

Best Mixer for What a starting out dj , a club dj, a video Dj , what are you r plans for ? That way the peopl here who are in your realm of djing will be able to give you some great insight ---
