Topic: MC6000 Asio crackling and crash

Have already looked on the Denon forums in the crackling thread. Laptop has just been formatted and is running on min cpu usage. DPC latency is with norm (very rarely over 500 and usually under 350) and CPU is stable between 50-60%. All not needed devices are disabled. 3D hardware acceleration is off.

I am getting a crackling noise no matter at what latency (5 or 40ms). It is also very inconsistent. At one point thought had fixed it but the crackling would appear in certain parts of the tracks. Played around a little more and seemed fixed until VDJ crashed and was never able to replicate it again. Now it has gotten actually a lot worse where even at 5ms the song is heavily distorted while before it would just crackle.

Have played with all possible hardware and VDJ settings with no result. I got no such crackling noise when running 1.5ms latency in Traktor Pro demo so its definitely a VDJ issue.
Didnt have any such issues with the RMX either running at 1ms.

I am out of ideas.

P.S. I know both Atomix and Denon are working on the issues so i hope this serves as info to focus in on the possible issue.

Just out of interest, what is your sound setup in config?

Regular stuff:
inputs - none
outputs - master chan 1/2 headphones 3/4
soundcard - Denon Asio 2.2 with ultra latency checked.

I am now convinced this is a mainly 7.02 problem because last night i had crackling when using my RMX with the latest hercules drivers.
I had never ever had crackling with the RMX before and this was the first time using it with 7.02.

I get that and in my first post i covered all the potential solutions myself.
Problem is the same laptop worked just fine before 7.02 with the RMX while now i get the crackling though without any DPC spikes or hardcore CPU usage.

As said i know you guys are hard at work figuring it out and as far as i cant tell the issue comes down to the software itself.

Ive been having intermittent garbled sound / crashes on VDJ 7.02 and a Korg Zero4 mixer. It seems to have been happening since Decemeber, that is when I installed 7.02. Try setting your sound card to 44khz for the sample rate conversion (44.1/48) in performance panel. Before with 7.0 my videos loaded slow, but I didnt have this problem. I don't know if this the fix or what settings VDJ7.0 had hidden before, but it seems to be working. If not Im going to try 7.0 again. 7.0 was solid, just installed 7.2 for iphone support- haven't even used it yet.

thanks,
David
