I've been "googling" all weekend..
Does anyone know of the availability of an External USB video card which offers an HDMI output (digital), as well as an "S" output (analog)?
I work in 2 clubs, 1 with an "S" video switcher, and 1 with HDMI.
My laptop has an on-board HDMI and a VGA, which I have a converter for - to get to an "S" output.
In both locations, my video freezes (for just a few seconds) but the audio stays on track. Rumor has it that moving the "video card" function to an external device eases the processing power of the computer, and may solve my little freeze problem.
I can find USB to S, and USB to HDMI, but I can't find one that does both. Any ideas?

Blulite, you are my hero. I have no idea why I never found this ...
-BUT-
It's a pisser that my Lappie has USB 2.0, not 3.0.
I would order that thing in a second!

thats a bummer i wonder why they say that. most places say that 3 is backwards compatible just like the 2 in the 1's
i would say its worth getting one to try anyway. though it does give you an excuse to go buy a new laptop :)
chances are the person on the other end of the phone knows nothing about usb 3's backwards compatability to usb 2 ports. most call centre workers work from a sheet and not from intelect or intelligence.

I was gonna recommend USB 3 expresscard but then I read this:

what express card are you wanting to use?

can you give me a little detail of what you want to achieve please.
aare you wanting to plug a usb 3.0 card into a usb 2.0 port to allow usb 3 to be connected???
im a little lost.
you would not need an express card. just plug the usb 3.0 item into the usb 2.0 port. a lot of usb 3.0's are backwards compatible. you can say for example, plug a usb 3.0 hdd into a usb 2.0 and it "will" work. it will work though at only usb 2.0 speeds.
plugging in an express card is effectively a wast of time and money as it would still only allow usb 2.0 speeds.
if you grab a pci express card the same still applies as the motherboard busses arent capeable of handling usb 3.0 so if you want true usb 3.0 capeability then upgrading is your only option.
