Hey guys, I have a diehard Pioneer friend who is finally considering going "digital" aka Virtual DJ route. From looking at the 2 units I am wondering what some of the comparisons are between the two in combination with VDJ. I am wondering if getting the 2000 is overkill for what the 900 can do.
Here are some notes I put together for my friend...this may be inaccurate but I don't think so knowing how the functions of the decks may be mapped... Please add yours as I am trying to provide the most information so he can make an informed and cost efficient business purchase decision.
Some comparisions between the CDJ 900/2000:
CDJ 2000 has 3 hot cues
CDJ 900 has 4 auto beat loops however with VDJ can make those buttons hot cues thus giving you 4 instead of 3 like the CDJ 2000!
Hot Cue/Auto Beat Loop buttons can be mapped to perform other functions in VDJ like switching the decks to 2, 3, 4 respectively or map buttons 3 and 4 for decks 3 and 4 and use the first 2 for hot cues 1 & 2.

The CDJ 900's and the 2000's only make a difference when being used with cd's. Another Diiference is the feel of the Jog. The CDJ 2000 feels looser and spins easier compared the 900 which is tighter and if you do a back spin, i doesnt go around much. In sept 09, i sold My cdj 1000mk3 decks and i bought the Denon 3700 decks. You get more bang for the buck plus a bigger jog with a spinning platter. They are still kicking but untill this day. I play Hip hop, reggae, Dance elctronic, merengue, bachata, 80's etc. I play all types of music.

Thanks Cal! The 900s don't have a job sensitivity knob like the 1000 MKIII? My friend is mobile so as with that you have to be diverse.
