Does anyone know how I can set up my system to do Music Video on Ustream? I want to take the Video output from my Laptop and the output of my mixer and run it to another computer which will be used to start streaming my mix. I think right now, what I don't know how to do is to take my VGA video output from my ASUS laptop and input it into my desktop. What kind of hardware do I need? Some video cards that I've found only have component, composite, or s-video in.

I do interweb shows using ustream, I don't have all my info with me now but I will share what I can and follow up with more later.
I can tell you one difference now is that I run VDJ and my broadcast from the same PC, being my home PC.
I run video from my laptop for gigs but when broadcasting to the interwebz I need the extra horsepower for the screen capture and broadcasting apps.
I use the Flash Media Live Encoder that you can find here, http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/flashmediaencoder/?sdid=FCOYQ
The media encoder seems to work better and give better quality than the web based app that ustream provides.
I can't remember the name of the screen capture software at the moment but I will update.
I set the video to run in "window" mode so the capture area is smaller. It doesn't have to be full screen because the ustream viewer by defalut is not full screen. But it can be setup to capture the whole monitor if you choose.
ustream provides an xml file for you to use with the media encoder to set the broadcast specifics.
There is much more that can be done in the settings such as audio bitrate, broadcast window size. (which should match ustream's default)

Which will connect from my VGA output of my laptop and convert it to component video.
Then connect the output to a component to USB device like this:

This would go to my desktop which will be used to stream to Ustream. So do you think this will work?
