Played last night at the staff party for one of the venues I play at and I noticed a strange anomoly when using iRemote.
Maybe I'm not following a "procedure" but whenever I closed the app on my iPhone, VDJ 7 would freeze for about a minute (music didn't stop) and then return to normal. If, whilst VDJ was frozen, I started the app again, VDJ would unfreeze immediately - it was almost as though VDJ was searching for the iPhone.
Has anyone else experienced this or is this normal behaviour?

I've experienced this and other abnormal behaviour...
I've had it completely freeze VDJ and require a restart.
I've had it drop the iPad and iPhone (after opening another app); requiring a close and re-open of the app, then disable and enable the feature in VDJ to get it to reconnect successfully. I'm sure it's just the odd teething problem, after all the app is still a baby!

Si, never actually had to restart VDJ or had the app drop
To be honest the only reason I was dumping the app, was I'd forgotten my iPhone charging cable and was trying to conserve it's battery.
Using iRemote was great fun (might invest in a pair of wireless headphones...) and bearing in mind the place was full of the resident DJ's for two venues (I play guest sets), watching their faces as I walked by still controlling VDJ was priceless.....they all wanted a go!

It was literally only while testing the app out when this happened I wanted to check the limitations of it before I used it at a gig.
I have used it at a couple of gigs where there have been some DJ's, and it's left them astonished... When I keep the app open there isn't a thing I can fault on it, I love it!

I noticed it too.
Connect your iPhone / iPad with a wireless router and the router via cable to the laptop! This works for me without freeze.

I picked up a cheap wifi router from ebay and have installed it in my rack case for use at gigs. You dont need it connected to the internet to work so dont have to rely on a venue having wifi and it is a lot faster than having an ad-hoc network

Which iPhones are you guys using? Anybody using the 3G with this?
Inviato Wed 02 Feb 11 @ 10:59 am
I'm using the 3GS.
I have a friend with a 3G so I can ask him if he can get it.
The biggest downside will obviously be no multi tasking so I'm not sure if it is even available on 3G... Will update you once I know!

I have not experienced any of what was mentioned above. And I've disconnected the app live while doing a gig and gone immediatley to control with my hc4500. No hiccups, stutters, freezes, or shut downs.
