hi all,

so I got my back-up netbook

just a basic recovery plan if the main lappy goes tits up

copied my music library over to the mini me lol

along with my itunes playlists from the virtual dj folder etc etc

all good so far, itunes copies my music library and hey presto theres my back-up library..

grab my first playlist, (m3U mode) whatever that is, drag it into itunes..and then nothing ..?

I can here the song, 'ere we go 'ere we go 'ere we go playing in my head already lol

do i really fancy the chore of manually re-creating sh*t loads of itune playlists..helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll no

pleaz help me, my brain aches :(

Playlists are path specific and will only work if the songs are in EXACTLY the same drive/path as before.

Otherwise you must manually edit the path in the playlist using a text editor (E.g: Search and replace C:\Tunes with F:\Music)

so I move mohammed to the mountain..i.e. the playlists to the libraries path..?

or the mountain to mohammed..i.e. the library to the playlists..?

can I edit the path/drive in notepad..?

the drive on the netbook is another 'C' so I take it the paths been lost after I copied the playlists over..
 
was getting absolutely nowhere with this shizzle but..

Just realized what itunes 'home-share' is all about and has sorted this problem right out for me ;)

wicked way to transfer your whole library and playlists over to another machine once it's hooked up on your network !
