How do install a new codec i am trying to get my flac file tracks to work in this program i just dont understand how

FLAC is supported natively in recent VDJ versions.
Iff you want to use an external codec you need to install a directshow filter (opencodecs for FLAC) and tell VDJ to use the WMP audio decoder.
