Topic: Denon DN-MC6000 vs Pioneer DDJ T1 vs S1

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

I'm looking to buy a controller. I'm really impressed with the Denon especially since I can keep using VDJ with it. I do like the closer to traditional size of the Pioneer units even though I think they both have several drawbacks. Does anyone know if the Pioneer controllers will get mapped for virtual? Anyone have input on which controller to go with?

You cant compare a controller which is already tested and working 100% with a controller which is brand new and not yet tested.
You will have to wait for some feedback from Pioneer, unless you want to order a controller with a few NAMM videos available.

Right now i would go for Denon. Pioneer are overpriced as usual.

Its way too early to talk about a mapping when the controller hasnt been realesed. As far as comparison, The jog are better than the Denons. The denons can scratch but its uncomfortable. Touching the platter feels awkward. The pioneer decks jogs feel like the CDJ 400. The pioneer is more comfortable because its more spacious Vs a Crammped up denon. You have the search strips and better lay out. The going price is 1099 for the one with traktor.

Danon looks sweet to me, but look what happen with American Audio, I would wait till the dust settles....

Good Luck,

Joey...

The Denon and Pioneer are differnt products simple as, the denon is a mixer combo and the Pioneer a midi controller.

I can't comment about scratching as it's not something I do, but otherways the Denon is superb.

The Pioneer is a strange design and wayyyy overpriced as usual.

The Pioneer deck is not way over priced. Its 1099. You also have the NS6 and its going to sell for 999. The denon and the VCI 300 mk2 are 799 and they are smaller.

I will never buy another Pioneer product again. They don't stand behind their products. I recently sent in something to be repair and was told that it is not covered under the warranty. I am extremely suprise at their response. After purchasing over $10,000 dollars on Pioneer equitpment I will never spend another dollar with them because of the horrible customer support.

Today i went to my local Dj store test out the Pioneer DDJ-T1 controller and i wasnt impressed with the repsonce. The controller looks nice. It has alot of buttons and can be confusion in the beggining but, i got the hang of it. If you just want to blend music etc, Its good for you. If you like to do alittle scratching etc, you will notice the very high latecity responce. The upfaders are really stiff but the cross fader is smooth. Some of the buttons feels cheap and the whole deck seems fragile because of the plastic. Pioneer doesnt feel like Pioneer. The NS6 looks like a better buy.

Caliente is right about the the mc6000 being cramped. They will be right on the money if they make a larger version with usb input.
When you scratch on deck 2 with the volume slider of deck 4 all the way up, my index finger keeps clipping the edge of the fader. I don't have enormously large fingers either!

Build quality is very good however in comparison to the pioneer deck obviously!

Right and dont forget the pioneer mixer`s!!!Getting hot like hell and shit sound :-(

I have the Mc600 using it with VDJ. Works Great. Bought it at 9:30 AM had it up and running on my internet show on cyberjamz.com at 11 AM.
I have been using Vestax VCI 100 there is no comparison

@rhouse - no comparison to the VCI-100? Serious? I love my VCI-100 but have been looking at the Denon unit. My problem is that there doesn't seem to be a place around here with a display model to play with to see if I like it. I was thinking of waiting for the NS6, but I really want 4 dedicated midi faders now!!! I like to hear things like this though.

Thanx

I paid 450 US for the VCI several years ago. I have gotten good service from that controller. I recently paid just over 700 US for the Denon. The difference in build quality alone for the denon far exceeds the difference in price between the units. When you consider that the denon includes a good sound card, the decision to upgrade was easy for me to take.

Is the Pioneer DDJT1 will work with virtual DJ?

Not yet, mapping is still in development.

After spending nearly 2 months deciding what new kit to buy, I had the DDJ-T1 as one of two controllers on my shortlist.

I spent an afternoon at my local(ish) DJ store playing with both contenders. In the end I didn't buy the DDJ-T1.

It felt plastiky (yes I know it's made of plastic), it's far too big, the knobs are hard, sharp plastic that reminded me of bakalite, the jog wheels felt terrible -wobbly and cheap and felt like they would fall apart. Overall I was disappointed. Had the store not had the other controller on my list (which is fantastic and was £160 cheaper), I would have come home empty handed.

I'm not saying don't get one, you might love it, but I would advise you to try before you buy...£900 is a lot of money to spend on a MIDI controller, only to find that you don't like it.

I've played with tons of controllers and no other device has such a good after sale support as the denon mc6000 go on their forum to see : www.denondjforums.com
They are really helping and answering every question that you could have in mind.
More over they post firmware updates for the device in order to please our requests !!! I'm not speaking about 1 year after... they made one in feb. 2011 and recently another one in april 2011 and now they're working on another one that will enable mic ducking tweaking (speed and volume) because people said that they didnt like the talk-over ... so here they are ...

Beside its quite a solid product. Dont even compare it to the S4 or the VMS4 ... Theses are plastic toys when compared to the DN-MC6000.

The greatest feature is that it can be used as a 4ch analog mixer / 4ch midi mixer / 2ch analog - 2ch midi / 1ch analog - 3ch midi / 3ch. analog - 1ch. midi
So what ever happens with your computer you can alway mix using 2 ipods ! (and being able to preview the next song ;) ) While rebooting your CPU without any long pause !

Take that in consideration !

+ its rack-mountable !

The MC-6000 is more of a toy than a pro controller/mixer imo. The sound is noticeably deficient compared to a stand alone mixer. I continue to use it for small jobs, but it will never replace my main setup. I'm on the cuff to getting the Pioneer DDJ T1

I totally disagree. After working with quite a few mixers in 26 years of being a DJ the MC6000 is a solidly built piece of kit and sounds excellent.

I have used it in a club for almost a year and it's been perfect.
