So I bought my MC6k last night about 8pm. I didn't unpack it till about midnight. I did my research this morning. I lost my headphones cable (Shure 440's) Saturday night... I found this out tonight.
Leaving my mouse, comfort of my Pioneer mixer and... headphones to the wayside I venture into the unknown to sink or swim, a trial by fire.
I start my party tonight, with a midi controller I've never put a signal through, have only set up in theory, and devastated I'm going to have to drop yet another couple of bills on yer ANOTHER set of headphones... and... I don't have any tonight.
I'm home now, ecstatic, thrilled, stoaked ect ect ect...
By 930 (and some jaeger) headphones we're not even an issue. I was abusing the cue buttons, I was chopping up my drops on the fly and making my name a new rhythm in the tracks I was playing. I was dropping echo's on single beat loops that I'd scratch into track playing exploding the drop knocking the other off it's tempo with a break effect giving up winding down into the new mash that's coming on. I Rocked the Funky Beats with 4 different cue's I think Bad Boy Bill even heard it out here in VA Beach.
The point is, this piece of Denon is incredible. Virtual DJ we're all fans of yes, but these powers combined, magic was coming out of my fingers. I didn't believe that I could DJ w/o using my mouse like this suggests, but I found by the end of the night, the only time i touched my laptop was type in songs/artists.
I used the recommended (incredibly conservative) 2/3 channel, INT MIX, External-Mixer Output setup.
If you're using your MC6k for the first time, this is the USB and VDJ Settings you'll want to set your first time.
This setup uses, channels 2 and 3 only, in theory chan 1 and 4 are Line ins or Phono ins, the INT MIX setting uses the Analogue portion of the mixer vs the PC MIX which uses midi controll of VDJ's output, before it goes to the controller's sound card.
Denon MC-6000 Set Up
This uses half the channels and is the least taxing on your computer's resources...

(I was looking for this info today I found it over about 3 hrs of reading forums)
Point is, I had never touched this piece of gear before tonight, used the absolute most minimal setup, and was gimped mentally over not having head phones and I absolutely KILLED It. I had fun, I wanted to do more and more and more as the night went on.
I never took my hands off the cue's, the effects, the tricks the toys, the flare, the "OMG that DJ's Sick" button once tonight and I barely scratched the surface of this controllers Potential.
I'm sorry for the essay, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I wish somebody had posted this so plainly this morning so I did it here.
Thank you ATOMIX, Denon, I'm glad to have this piece in my rack and look forward to what you guys do next!

LOL sounds great, mine is on the way to me soon. Just think though, with the LE version you are limiting what all you can do with the 6k. I know you just droped some big bucks on the controler but the upgrade to pro with the discount is worth it's weight in gold and you wont regret it!
Enjoy, and happy button pushing!
