Would it be possible to have 2 installs of virtual dj on the same laptop using one version that has music mp3s indexed on it and another that has karaoke only indexed on it?
i know that the karaoke tracks has different icons but after a few pints in the residency, they do get a bit blurry
if it is possible, how would i do it?

If you created two different user accounts on your computer, you could do this (Each would have their own VirtualDJ database in their My Documents)
However, you can hide/show karaoke by simply clicking on the options icon to the far right of the search box and then ticking/unticking the option to show karaoke appropriately.
Alternatively, put your karaoke on an external hard disk, and only plug it in when you actually need it. The database for music on that drive is local and will only show when the drive is connected.
