is it possible to monitor the line in signal when recording your mix? at the moment to record I have to use line in to my desktop (other pc) and record through audition only because i can't monitor the input to check if it is clipping... I have checked everywhere in the record options/config but still could not find this function, am I missing something.
Cheers

No your not, the program doesn't have a built in clip monitor for recording and it should though, the only way to do this is to direct the master to an external mixer like in my settings and adjust the levels there before sending the Loopback to VDJ, you can use the clip monitor on the decks for your audio/video guide, but nothing else could be monitored, a clip monitor should really be at the record dialog to get a true combine reading of all inputs being sent to record....
Can we get a clip monitor in the next update for recording levels only...in the record dialog menu..
Thanks,

That's why I love this NI AUDIO 8, it has leds on the box for your input levels. But yes I agree VDJ should show the recording level, that other software does. Maybe make mention in the wishes forum............id definitely support it!

@Joey, what mixer are you using?

No doubt, that is a good mixer, but it's a large unit. I have all my equipment setup on a 14.5"x11" footprint, 8"x9.5" Mk2 controller and I'm good to go, plus I could record a group performance or a DJ/KJ session..

Hey Guys,
I am hoping someone can help me with my recording issue. I run karaoke and would like to record people singing and all music out of my mixer into my laptop through Virtual DJ 7.
Now, I understand that in previous posts that they got rid of the easy option to record line in but how do I do this cause I am not using a sound card?
Music comes from my computer and I use a plug from my main out (RCA) of my mixer which has the microphones in it and the music flowing through it back into the mic input into the computer.
Is this even possible with the advanced config cause.
Now, I also use mono channels cause I have the 6 deck skin and like 1-3 on the left and 4-6 on the right of the slider.
Can someone help please?
Thanks,
Joel
