Topic: Sound config with VDJ...

Questo argomento è obsoleto e potrebbe contenere informazioni obsolete o errate.

First of all, i am not 100% sure that what i am attempting to do is actually possible, although in theory, it should work, i just cant get it to!

I bought a small USB driven sound card, so i can utilise the 2 sound cards option in order to be able to have headphone cue, but then i thought, well surely there should be a way to get one deck playing through one sound card, and the other through the second soundcard, then by using 2x 3.5mm jack to RCA connection leads i should be able to run deck 1 into channel 1 of my real mixer, deck 2 into channel 2 and use the proper headphone selection to cue with on that, and according to the VDJ config window there is a way to get 2 decks playing out on 2 cards, but i either get a massively distorted mess or no sound at all regardless of what i try and do.

These are the settings i have got, i am currently getting a massively over distorted mess from the speakers, together with a repetitive glitch of the last sound, like a fast stutter, when the track has finished playing, from only one deck, i just cant understand why this will not work...

Am i doing somthing obviously wrong here, as to me this config makes the most sense, although i am far from being an expert on these things.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

EDIT: The overly distorted sound i am getting may be down to my mixer, after some research it could be that the mixers main 2 channels (that work with the crossfader also) may be designed to take an analogue signal as they usually do from my technics 12/10 turntables, and not the digital output from a computers sound card, so that may be the reason for the distortion, the incorrect kind of signal, as if i use the line in channel on the mixer there is no distortion.
