Hey, after trying Virtual DJ with my new Hercules RMX unit several times and never feeling completely comfortable with it - I shelved it hoping to get back to it when I have more time to tinker with it.
When DJing I carry two laptops. The second one is for backup and has all the Virtual DJ/RMX settings installed. Last week I was using that backup laptop to rip a Karaoke CD and copy it for backup, using the installed DVD/CD drive. What used to take 5 minutes took more than an hour. I'm sure the problem has to do with changes I made when installing Virtual DJ and the RMX hardware. How do I disable the changes made during the install so that I can routinely use my DVD/CD drive again?
I'm sure the answer is somewhere on these pages, just not sure where to look.
THanks
Bob

Installing VirtualDJ and the RMX won't do anything to your CD drive I'm afraid.

I seem to recall that somewhere during the installation, I made some changes regarding my primary audio device - changing it to the RMX. Not sure if that was in the Control Panel/System/Device Manager or elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, the DVD/CD drive works - just super-slow.
I don't use this laptop very often and the DVD/CD drive worked fine when last used. The only changes since then have been the Virtual DJ and RMX changes.
If Virtual DJ and RMX would have no effect on the operations of the DVD/CD drive, then I'll remove everything and start from scratch as the problem seems to be elsewhere.
THanks for your help.

Changing the audio device will have no impact I'm afraid. The only thing that would is PIO/DMA settings and they would have to be done by you.
Laptop drives are slow at the best of times - it's possible yours could need a clean or even be on it's way out.
