have to get an rca splitter then carefully seperate the red and white cables at the seem and run one pair to the powered speaker and one pair to the amp - if the amp doesn't have rca in you can get rca to xlr cables

You can use the splitter method. But the mixtrack pro has 2 outputs, I haven't tried this but in theory you should be able to use one output for your powered stuff & the other for the unpowered.

ok,thanks i know it has two outputs but one is for the laptop right?im gonna get some splitters

one of these outpouts is just for monitoring!

Yes that's how it's set up "out of the box" but apparently you can change it (if you have VDJ Pro).

is there a certain kinda cables i need to use, cause it sounds real trashy coming out my powered speakers from my computer.
it even has my speakers clipping

Turn down the volume on your laptop

i got 1 speaker plugged in output 1 which is working but the other 1 in output 2 isnt please help

Hte mixtrack pro is an odd beast. the 2 outputs don\'t work the way you think they should. re-read the owners manual -don\'t have mine in front of me - I believe one is only good for cueing so you can\'t use it if you have headphones plugged in. that is why you will need splitter cables if you are running 4 speakers. Ran mine that way for a while but eventually just pulled the plug on the 2nd set. what kind of set-up are you running? You have 2 powered speakers and and 2 passive speakers on an amp? Do your powered speakers not have pass through outputs? What is the physical arrangement? are they in separate rooms? What model speakers and amp are you using? In my experience with the Mixtrack pro RCA splitters from the main output are the way to go. You have to separate your RCA cables into single strands though to run the L/R to the proper sides and keep them color coded.

i have 2 gemini rs 10 powered speakers
2 community dual 15's unpowered
qsc amp

thanks for that info jbart19

I would not run a full output channel to the 10" mains as long as you are running it with the 15" subs. Making the subs try to reproduce the mids and highs is bad and making the mains reproduce the lows will likely blow them or distort it in a way that will be tough to listen to. Because you a re running out to a powered speaker I don't think you can use the built in crossover in the CPL55 subs. the extra power would likely blow your mains. get a set of passive inline RCA crossovers. One set with a high pass filter to put in line with your mains and another set with a low pass filter to send the signal to your subs. While not as good as an active crossover they should do the job decently in your situation.

High pass:

Low Pass:

I think the 100hz models in each type would work well for you. They just plug inline with your RCA cables

ok thanks,my sub cabinets have horns with built in highs

Ok not the CPL55 then - i would still look into the High pass for your 10" mains. Just curios what type of setup are you in that you need the 10" in additon to the large cabs? are you using them as booth monitors ?

i take it you guys give the mixtrack pro a thumbs up then??

For the price it is fine. It has all the options you need to start with and personally i like the bigger jog dials compared to some of it's competitors. I use mine as a backup unit now. I recently purchased a numark Mixdeck which allows me to use CD's. the owner of the Company i work through to do weddings likes everyone to use CD's instead of laptops. They supply me with 200 mixed CD's pre-made with the top songs for different parts for the event.

i have the numark hdmix, the idj2 & the mixtrack.i just like using the tens and the cabinets when im doing a large crowd.
just got the mixtrack thursday & going get the ns6.

my setup: numark mixtrack
gemini ns 10
qsc g7 power amp
2 community dual 15 cabinets

i dont really like the hdmix

Cheers. I've been using hercules mp3 e2 since it came out. Figured it's time for an upgrade my novation nio needs to stay in the studio. Seems to be a popular device.

Hey all, I'm looking at purchasing my first DJ setup just to muck around at home and mates party's and things like that, so i'm here for advice and to ask a few questions. I was looking at the Numark Mixtrack Pro which seems like a pretty good deck for a newbie like me, and I'll be running Virtual DJ pro with it via my laptop (Acer Aspire 6935). Does anyone use this kind of set up? If so, whats the best way to use it? Is the Mixtrack Pro capable of running an amplifier and party speakers, as it is only USB powered? I probably have lots of other questions but my mind has gone blank lol... Or, is there a better alternative to the Mixtrack Pro, keeping in mind I don't want to spend a whole lot to start with.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mixtrack pro is great to start with - Check out the diagram I posted earlier in the thread and remove the 2 extra speakers and splitter.
