I think that the majority of VDJ Users are enjoying a stable version 7. I don't see too many crash reports either. I'm not aware of your sound issues, probably have to do with your personal setup, drivers etc. Sound pops and cracks usually are related to your hardware setup and some faulty drivers, rather the software itself.
In any case, you can raise a Ticket http://www.virtualdj.com/contact/index.html and ask from Team to add to your Download Center a link to previous version.

i never had that problem b4 when i had VDJ 6. since VDJ 7i cant get it fixed, i found that link just minnutes ago and came across this.
I am getting pops, crackles, and clicks in my sound.
Your performance settings may be set to a value greater than your hardware is able to utilize. Because you are most likely using an ASIO sound card - please set your performance settings under CONFIG -> Performance tab to the following:
Slide the fader all the way to the left, then on position to the right of Fastest.
Change the Latency drop down to AUTO
Uncheck SafeMode and Overclock.
Leave all other settings unchanged.
If the problem still persists, then go to CONFIG -> Sound Setup again and click on the ASIO Config button. This will display your sound card's ASIO control panel. Increase the buffer size and then restart VirtualDJ. Repeat this until you find the optimal value for your computer.
Also, for a USB sound card make sure that you always plug it into the same USB port each time to avoid the "Error in DirectX" message.
this mite help me and others and thanks djDAD

vdj should have a page for all pro licensed users with links to past versions of vdj. another dj software has done this for ppl who have had better luck with previous versions of the software.

Older versions can be made available on request by simply asking in support: http://www.virtualdj.com/contact/index.html
(Obviously we can only make versions that your license entitles you to available.)
NOTE: The majority of users have no problems with the latest versions of the software. We always recommend using the latest version of the software. Most problems that users do have are usually system and/or configuration issues and can normally be resolved.

While I've only rarely had to use them, every time I download a new version of VDJ, I save the installation file for that version in its' own folder as a backup. If I ever need to "roll back", I have what I need to do that, even at an event, if it came to it.
